July 2010

The EAPRS Lab had a very strong presence at the ESA Living Planet symposium in Bergen, with eight papers from group members, together with a number of others from collaborative work. The first batch of ACE2 posters were released at the symposium and immediately grabbed by the delegates, together with 30 copies of the ACE2 dataset on DVD. A reprint is underway at ESA and more posters will be available soon.

March 2010

Professor Berry gave an invited lecture at the International Geoid School for Ph.D. students in Copenhagen this March 1st-5th. The EAPRS Lab has won the ESA SMALT contract in global competitive tender. This exciting new project focusses on deriving soil moisture estimates from satellite altimeter data. 6th November 2007

The River and Lake project has been kicked off, following the successful original River and Lake contract, this contract with ESA ESRIN will include Jason-1 data produced in NRT and incorporate multi-mission altimeter heights into river modelling systems.

Susan Bramer successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis on multi-frequency backscatter response of the Earth's land surfaces.

3 May 2007

The ACE2 project has been kicked off, this contract with ESA ESRIN will produce the most comprehensive and accurate Global Digital Elevation Model of the Earth to date.
