Experience


July 1997 - now IIELR and De Monfort University
Software Engineer and Systems Administrator working on a project shared with IBM. I am the Systems Administrator for an SP, a 500k super computer running AIX. The project concentrates on using IBMs Digital Library software but we are also implementing other web based services for university.

I am still working on project ERCOMS.

October 1996 - July 1997 IIELR and De Montfort University
Software Engineer working on Project ERCOMS.
A project concentrating on copyright tracking and payment for the delivery of electronic objects ober the web.

My other duties include administrating all the UNIX and PC machines in the IIELR. I have also undertaken a number of internal and external consulatncy projects.

3 July 1995 - October 1996 The European Community and De Monfort University
Research Assistant working within the Division of Learning Development. Bringing electronic information to users over networks. This has involved formats such as HTML, SGML and PDF.

My personal involvement has been as a programmer and technical advisor.

Research Assistant and Part Time Lecturer. I am writing applications in Borland C++ for Windows on the Marcit project and teaching on BSc and HND courses.

March 1994-June 1994 De Monfort University
Research Technician porting code written in Turbo Pascal to Borland 3.1 C++. The project was a stereo eye-tracking system used as a pointing device instead of a mouse. The original system was demonstrated on Tomorrows World
