Information Systems: Services and Strategy
Tutor: Neil McBride GH5.61
Information Systems Services and Strategy (ISSS) is a 30 credit module
delivered by Neil McBride at the School
of Computing, De Montfort
University. It considers the disciplines and skills involved in the delivery of
information systems, technology and support in an organisation. It takes a
specific service oriented point of view. IT is a part of the organisation which
delivers a service, providing the right information to employees and customers.
Hence concepts of services are examined throughout the module. IT is also
strategic, offering the organisation a chance to gain competitive advantage
through work efficiencies and the strategic use of information systems in
products and services. This module equips students with foundational knowledge
and understanding to make an effective contribution to the achievement of an
organisation’s goals through the deployment of IT.
