Welcome to the website of the EMerging TEchnologies Research Centre (EMTERC).  On these pages, you can find out who we are, what we do (and with whom).

EMTERCís goal is to be internationally acknowledged as a centre of expertise in microelectronics and its applications through the creation and exploitation of knowledge in materials, devices, circuits, reliability, electromagnetics and signal processing

Our achievements have ranged:

  • from developing a novel noise model for GaN devices to developing plastic to remember electronic information
  • from developing efficient algorithms for rate-distortion optimized media streaming to physical models of structured cabling communications channels and
  • from developing a unique infrared microscopy facility to developing an augmented reality suite.

These pages will help explain these and the many other developments we have made.

If you are interested in knowing more about our technologies, or would like to work with us on any of our research fronts, please get in touch by going to the contacts page.
