Bernd Carsten Stahl
I am Professor of Critical Research in Technology and Director of the
Centre for Computing and Social Responsibility, which is one of the
research groups of the Department of Informatics of the Faculty of
Technology at De Montfort University. I am also a De Montfort
University Teacher Fellow.
In addition to serving as Chair of the Faculty Human Research Ethics
Committee, I am member of the Faculty Higher Degrees Committee
and the Faculty Research Committee.
The Framework for Responsible Research and Innovation project, funded by the EPSRC, (PI Marina
Jirotka, Oxford, CI Bernd Stahl) has started in September 2011.
The EU FP7 research project CONSIDER runs from February 2012 to January 2015.
From 2009 to 2011 I was coordinator of the EU FP7 research project "Ethical Issues of Emerging ICT
Applications" (ETICA). A useful summary, in chapter 1 of a booklet on the ethics of ICT and security,
